Skates and Rats Volume 3: Miscellaneous |
by Fëanor |
- Well, I know what I'm doing all day: a list of lists of best things for 2005! Thank you, Backwards City, for feeding my lists addiction.
- Yes! Mr. Fusion is almost here, people! We're going to run cars on garbage now! That's hot. You know, in a manner of speaking.
- This guy Eric Joyner does incredibly awesome paintings of tin toys (mainly robots) and UFOs, and if you want, you can get them on a T-shirt! Rock. (Via Backwards City)
- Oh, girls! (I'm thinking of Babyraven in particular.) A David Bowie as Goblin King Jareth action figure is soon to be available! Cinematical can't even imagine anyone wanting it, but I sure can. Btw, girls...it has 27 points of articulation. Rarr.
- I've never read The Tattooed Map; I think my Mom did. But just from reading a description of it, it sounds like it would be pretty difficult, and ultimately rather pointless, to adapt it into a film - although that's not stopping them from trying. I mean, this is a book that is really about its medium, like a Nick Bantock book. The point of it is that it's an illustrated novel, and you have to look at the illustrations and combine them with the text to understand the story.
Of course, I guess you could make a case for a movie being like an illustrated manuscript... I suppose I'll fall back on the old motto here: "It could be good!"
- Yo, check it: got a new article up on Phillyist. It's been a while.
