A Question, and News |
by Fëanor |
I'm thinking of going for my masters in this field of "computing" that I hear so much about. Any advice from the peanut gallery? I'm thinking I'd like to do it via this new-fangled distance learning.
Also, I see that various important things have occurred this weekend while I wasn't paying attention!
First of all, Walken got a star on the walk of fame, God bless him. It's about time--I love that guy.
Secondly, gosh I'm glad our president thinks we shouldn't pursue stem cell research! Because helping people is bad!
For some reason, Russia thinks naming ice cream flavors after illegal drugs is wrong. Damn their eyes. I knew they were still filthy communists. I particularly like "Poppy Fun."
Next is a story on Richard Linklater's former friends suing him over the portrayal of themselves in his film Dazed and Confused. Umm, apparently they are a bit dazed and confused. Do they realize that movie came out, like, twelve years ago?! Where have they been? In a drugged-out haze, I bet. Damn hippies. But I enjoyed this story because I hate Richard Linklater. Slacker sucked. It was really long and pretentious and boring and stupid and it made me want to kill myself.
And finally, this is the best story ever. I particular like this quote:
"I'm on top of the world right now, because everyone's going to know that I can shove more than three burgers in my mouth!" The bit about drinking the bottle of ketchup is just gross, though. Eee.
Anyway, I think that's it for me for now. Except for, yo, I got to check out some more of those Star Wars DVDs, and they rock. I don't know about the movies, since I haven't watched them yet, but there's some awesome stuff on the bonus materials disc. Usually production photos and such are totally boring to me, but these are really interesting and cool, and even have funny captions. And the making of the movies documentary is really fascinating and detailed. I haven't gotten to watch the whole thing yet, as it's very long, but so far it's just great. It doesn't pull punches, either; it tells you about the disasters and the bad feelings and the shortcomings of George and company, while of course also revelling in the fun and the success of the movies. Very cool.
Anyway, my short, nothing-to-say post has gotten pretty long, so...peace out. |
