Funtastic! |
by Fëanor |
- Hard drives through the ages, in picture form! A fun look back. (Via Digg)
- How basic and boilerplate are Bollywood movies? So basic and boilerplate, a ten-year-old could direct them! Case in point: a ten-year-old just did direct one. Dude, that's nuts.
- Backwards City has some fun links today, including one to an article about artificial life, another to a pretty comprehensive-looking list of the religious affiliations of various comic book characters, and another one to another online version of Zork, this one in PHP. I actually prefer this one to the applet version, because it's easier to save.
- I'm curious about Jared Diamond's Collapse, as I enjoyed his Guns, Germs, and Steel, but Backwards City points out that it's really depressing, and I'm not sure I need more news about the upcoming collapse of society right now.
- South Pole Neutrino Detector Could Yield Evidences of String Theory - Sweet! I'd say more, but I'd just be quoting the article. Read it yourself. It's crazy stuff. (Via Digg)
- Dude built his home theater to look like the bridge of the Enterprise, from the original "Star Trek" TV series. His site is running slow, probably thanks to the Digg effect, so check out this shot for a quick panorama view of the whole thing. That's kind of crazy awesome. As somebody on Digg pointed out, though, it'd be even cooler if he had the control panels and the flashing lights and stuff in there, too.
