-After complaining about Battlestar Galactica's decline recently on Phillyist, and to people I know, I watched the two most recent episodes and discovered that they were actually pretty good! "Woman King," which many other people I know didn't particularly like, I thought was pretty good; raised some interesting issues. And "A Day in the Life" was pretty fantastic. The whole sequence with the Chief was totally at the level of nailbiting intensity that I expect from the series. Looking forward to the next episode.
-Spent most of the day today trying to figure out our complex taxes, with the help of my parents and TurboTax. It was a painful and frustrating experience, and we might be cheating a bit (sshh! Don't tell the IRS!), but they're done now, anyway. Floyd had a great time, anyway; he loves the snow, and running around in my parents' backyard.
-Speaking of Floyd, he's also feeling a lot better in general these days, even though we forced him into the shower and washed him on Saturday. He hated the experience, and stood there trembling, pressed against the glass door, the entire time, but really enjoyed shaking himself and rubbing himself all over everything to get dry, to the extent that he seemed to have forgotten the horrible ordeal that led to him being wet in the first place. We're not sure what to do about cleaing him in the future; the options seem to be take him to PetSmart and have him be traumatized there and pay money for it, or wash him here, at a slight inconvenience to us, thus traumatizing him here for free.
-Poppy managed to get in a goodly about of sleep last night after upping her dosage each time she woke up. It left her dizzy, weak, and in a not particularly good mood today, but at least not as sleep-deprived. I believe she's sleeping now beside me, with the help of a sleep-inducing CD that we purchased today.
-I am now Pro in the Wii Sports of Bowling, Golf, and Tennis, and am slowly approaching the mark in Boxing and Baseball as well.
-Picked up Zelda again! Very pleased! I do love that game, even with it's slightly frustrating saving system. I've collected the first three things I was supposed to collect, and was not surprised to then be ambushed by the big evil dude who (spoilers ahead) turned me into a wolf in the daylight world, and nearly killed my little shadow friend. That did surprise me, though: that little shadow dude is actually my friend, and didn't betray me once he got all the fused shadows. Has Zelda killed herself to save him?? I doubt it, as my job is always to save Zelda - after getting the Master Sword, of course, which is my current quest. I think I'll get back to that now, actually... |
