Yesterday poppy and I hosted a party that I dubbed "WTF day." It was a get-together for all of our anti-Bush friends where (the idea was, at least) we could just have fun and forget about politics for a while. We even considered getting some kind of funny hat to be worn by anyone who mentioned politics, in the manner of a dunce cap. That idea fell by the wayside, and we ended up having one or two political discussions, but we still had a lot of fun anyway. Much food was eaten, games (of the board and the video variety) were played, a movie was watched, and a good time was had by all (I hope). In attendance were Sarcasmo, TrackerNeil, Peccable, Yagathai, PinkHairedGirl, Super Tarzan, Dave, Brian, Jen, and Eric. It got nice and cozy in our little apartment here. Thank you all very much for coming! It's good to know after that election that a lot of people feel our pain, and aren't crazy and stupid.
Speaking of which, while we were all together, we took a group photo for sorryeverybody.com, a website Sarcasmo made me aware of whose purpose is to apologize for the rest of the world for reelecting George W. Bush. The site runs a little slow, probably because it's on a server that wasn't built to handle the amount of traffic it's getting, but it's been getting better lately. It seems to have gotten very popular very quickly, so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes quite a while for our photo to show up on there (though I submitted it directly after the party was over).
Today it was back to the daily grind, but on Wednesday, poppy and I will be off on a vacation to our nation's capital. Yay! Unfortunately, this probably means we'll be without the internets for some time. But I think you'll all survive without us for a while. |
