On the Viewer - Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars |
by Fëanor |
When I found this Sherlock Holmes BBC TV movie - starring the mighty Jonathan Pryce as Holmes - on Netflix, I added it to the queue immediately. I've always been a big fan of Pryce, Holmes, and the Irregulars, so I figured this would be a slam dunk. Sadly, poppy and I decided to turn it off after about a half hour. The script is poor, and the acting is quite bad throughout - even Pryce ends up being a disappointing Holmes. Of course, I should have figured the acting might be an issue given that many of the main members of the cast are kids, who are not known for their acting chops, and I'd never heard of anybody else in the show besides Pryce. Obviously I can't do much more of a review, given that we only watched about a quarter of the thing, but take it from me: don't be tricked into watching this! It's totally lame. |
