On the Viewer - Battlestar Galactica (Season 4.5, Episode 3 - "The Oath") |

I love Tigh's complete discomfort at discovering Roslin in Adama's quarters. Also, Tigh is totally right when he says orders on touchy things shouldn't come from him, a Cylon. I was thinking about that last episode - why send Athena on a touchy mission to put down a mutiny and arrest the Vice President?? Aren't you just making things worse?
I also like seeing Roslin fighting with herself about whether to get involved or not. She doesn't want to, but she wants to, but she doesn't want to...
Tigh of the Quorum: "It'd take a cavity search to find a backbone in that bunch." Ha!
Um, Gaeta? You forgot to recruit your lover into the revolution??
(Btw, I'm pleased that the Face of the Enemy webisode miniseries wasn't just a meaningless thing - what happened there actually informs Gaeta's character and partially explains his current actions.)
And one of the final five gets a nice beating! I'm actually kind of surprised it took so long for that to happen.
Oh frak. It's all going down now. This is intense.
Heh heh. Starbuck's in her element now.
Jesus, who's who? How do you even know who to shoot at?
Man, Gaeta had his own lover put in the brig! Plus, Adama is awesome even being arrested. Adama to Gaeta: "This boy died honoring his uniform. You'll die with nothing."
Word! Roslin's back and she's ready to kick ass! She'll be damned if they take her man and her presidency!
Baltar is hilarious. What a squirrelly little devil.
Good old Chief, standing by the Admiral. I always liked the Chief.
Tigh and Adama are a couple of hardcore bad-asses. Yee ha!
Roslin is a pirate DJ! Not a bad speech. That'll throw a wrench into the revolution.
Starbuck to Adama: "They are not your men anymore, they are the enemy." That's going to be a hard lesson for him to learn.
Okay, I appreciate the drama and romance of Adama staying behind with Tigh for a showdown, but... why is it necessary? I mean, couldn't they have just got on the ship? I don't get that.
This was an excellent, powerful episode, except for that last scene. I just don't understand what's gained by Adama and Tigh staying behind facing certain death. Maybe they keep the enemy from getting in the airlock a little longer, but... so what? They can't exactly just jump out of the airlock and chase the other ship. They'd still need to get a ship of their own to the airlock, and Adma and Tigh being there doesn't make that any harder to do. I just don't get it. It feels contrived and pointless. Very disappointing. I'd love it if somebody could explain that to me. Anybody? |
