Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- Above is an amusing ad for live jazz video game soundtracks. (Via)
- Pixar is also involved with Epic Mickey! Could an animated feature film version be on the way??
- Stills from classic movies. (Via)
- The first five minutes of The Princess and the Frog. Not all the color and animation is complete, but you get a good idea. There's a lot of controversy swirling around this movie, and claims of racism. I don't know how qualified I am to speak to that, but this clip seems sweet and cute and mostly inoffensive to me.
- Dude's skull grew back. Handy!
- Awesome portraits of Star Wars bounty hunters.
- Fantastic animal portrait.
- Excellent punctuation tattoo. Semicolons rule!
- 21 sexy female stormtroopers.
- Clips from a couple of recently released, never-before-seen Gene Roddenberry TV pilots: Genesis II and Planet Earth. The general consensus seems to be that they should have stayed unreleased. Ah, well. You can't make a winner every time.
- I enjoyed this animated comedy/sci-fi short, Danger Planet.
- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will apparently be a loose adaptation of Tim Powers' novel On Stranger Tides, which features a trip to the Fountain of Youth.
- Eli Roth's next project is Endangered Species, which just might be a giant monster movie. Nice!
- Battlestar Galactica: The Plan is hitting DVD and Blu-ray on October 27th.
- When DVRs and other similar technology are taken into account, TV shows like Fringe actually turn out to have much better ratings than originally thought.
- Heh. What cats are really saying to each other. (Via)
- The mustache magnet, for putting facial hair on the people whose photos you're sticking on your fridge. Excellent. (Via poppy)
- Agent M is back, with cuteness! Behold the puppy roll (via) and a hedgehog with tiny feet (via).
- Jawbox is reuniting for a performance on Jimmy Fallon on December 8th.
- The top 10 craziest Star Wars tattoos (via; beware a NSFW tattoo down the bottom) and an Admiral Ackbar velvet painting (via).
- Video of The Mountain Goats performing live on The Colbert Report. (Via)
- The empty rooms of Twin Peaks. (Via)
- A video explaining the coolness of Google Wave. I might have an invitation to this soon... (Via)
- What you can expect to happen to you if and when you get H1N1 (swine flu). (Via)
- Leonard Nimoy speaks sagely about the wrong way and the right way to go about making sci-fi, and gives some teasing answers to questions about Fringe.
- Some fan-made book trailers for Star Wars: Death Troopers, that Star Wars horror novel that's coming out soon. Some are definitely better than others.
- The Russians are going to Venus!
- How about a mashup of the Where the Wild Things Are trailer and Gremlins 2: The New Batch?
- Gary Ross of Pleasantville and Seabiscuit fame is in talks to rewrite and direct the Venom spin-off movie.
- Scientists just discovered an extra really, really big ring around Saturn.
- Hey, look! It's Baba Yaga! Baba Yaga is cool. (Via)
- A mirror labyrinth.
- Pretty impressive footage from an unfortunately canceled Flash video game.
- A look at a fan-made Bill Paxton pinball machine, still in progress.
- Terry Gilliam has his Quixote and will start filming next spring. Good luck this time around, Mr. Gilliam!
- Cinematical provides handy links to the eight MST3K episodes currently available to watch instantly at Netflix.
- Check out the trailer for Stingray Sam, a musical space Western I'll be seeing at the Philadelphia Film Festival next weekend. Looks crazy! (Via)
- J.J. Abrams gives just a smidge more detail on his upcoming show about a couple of married spies: "it's more of a comedy with drama and action than a straight drama. It's certainly sweeter and more fun in tone than Alias was."
- NASA will bomb the moon tomorrow. No, really! The idea is to get some of that ice up out of there.
- A censored, but still probably NSFW, preview of a geeky, horror-themed calendar from Nerdcore.
- io9 has opened up a Flickr pool where you can drop pictures of yourself in your 2009 Halloween costume. (Via)
- That is some tattoo. I mean... wow.
- Look out! Scary clowns! Which is kind of redundant. I mean, it's not like there are clowns who aren't scary.
- Video of a ridiculous trick bowling shot.
- Play Ohio like a piano!
