It's the Feast for Crows spoiler of the day (highlight to read): What's with most of the new perspective chapter headings being descriptive titles instead of just names? The Prophet, The Captain of the Guard, The Daughter of the Sea King (or whatever). How come the change in format? Just for fun? To give it more of a high-fantasy tone?
Poor Podrick. He's so faithful and pathetic. I'm glad to see him back, and now with Brienne. I think they'll make a good pair; they'll sympathize with each other. They're both a little broken and a little lost.
That Littlefinger. I wonder if he'll be able to hold onto the Vale? I knew he'd have some schemes up his sleeve to do it, and now he's whipping them out. We'll see if it comes to fighting amongst the lords, though, and whether he'll be able to hang on. He's come this far, and done so well, I really can't imagine that he won't.
And where the heck is Tyrion, anyway? I wonder if we'll get a chapter or two from his viewpoint. I bet he's off trying to find out where his first wife ended up. It seems to me that can only end in pain. Besides the fact that it's going to be really hard for him to go unnoticed anywhere, and no one will really be interested in helping him stay alive. Maybe he won't be able to stay in Westeros, and will end up across the sea somewhere. Maybe he'll meet Arya in Braavos, or Dany. That would be interesting.
And for that matter, where's Varys? Did he go off with Tyrion? It seems odd to not have the Spider in King's Landing. He was such a fixture there. |
