Brunchicles, Volume Four |

- Check out this crazy video of a computer beating the SNES version of Super Mario World in the fastest time possible - about 10 minutes (WARNING: you may need to download the Xvid codec to get this video to play. Find it here). The video is 16 minutes long, but those last 6 minutes are just the credits and such. The computer-controlled Mario may seem to be taking risks, but he's so incredibly accurate in his movements that he sneaks his way through anyway. Watch in particular for the ridiculously fast and bad-ass way he disposes of the first boss. (Via Digg)
- Interesting: the top 10 most popular "myths" in science, and whether they're true or not (in fact, not all of them are myths, which makes the title misleading, but whatever). I can't believe the Coriolis force doesn't really affect the direction that water drains! How disappointing. (Via Digg)
- More on the increasingly credible theories behind anti-gravity and warp drive. Crazy. (Via Digg)
- Impressive CGI woman, totally work-safe. Okay, maybe we're getting closer to climbing out of that uncanny valley after all... (Via Digg)
- I don't know if this is for real or not, but it's certainly cool enough for a link: test footage from the new Transformers movie (I also cobbled together a direct link to the video file here; it worked better for me than the other link). Awesome! (Via Digg)
- Based on the trailer, Why We Fight looks like a pretty absorbing and thought-provoking examination of the military-industrial complex and American imperialism. Not exactly Transformers, but definitely another movie I'm interested in. (Via The Movie Blog)
