- In case you wanted to know what the insides of your fifth gen. iPod looked like, but didn't want to risk your precious device and its precious, precious cargo (oh, so precious, my precious beloved iPod...ahem!) by actually popping the thing open, here's the pics from somebody who did it for you. (Via Digg)
- A bit ago I posted a link to a myspace page where you could vote for the poster for Lady Vengeance; well, the folks behind the marketing for Silent Hill are doing something similar, but this time you don't need to be a registered user of anything. And in fact, in this case, nearly the whole poster creation process has been fan-controlled - Sony put out a call for designs to the public a while ago, and narrowed down the over 2000 entries to these five finalists. So go and vote on your favorite Silent Hill poster here! Looks like you can vote once a day (although I bet it'd be pretty easy to hack it so you could vote as many times as you want...). Me, I'm partial to this one. (Via Cinematical)
- Speaking of voting and hacking, here's the fascinating results of a poll Joystiq did a while back on which next gen consoles folks were interested in buying. Admittedly, you can cheat the poll pretty easily, but assuming cheating would equal out over the various consoles, I still think it's pretty amazing how completely the Nintendo Revolution blew away the competition. Me, I voted for the PS3 & Revolution combo, which got the second largest percentage of the votes (close behind the Revolution by itself). It would be a mistake to make any big conclusions based on this data, but I think it does at least suggest that Nintendo will fare a bit better in the upcoming console war than it did the last couple times around.
- Via Vis Major comes the amusing and accurate Groucho Marx Name Generator. So far, I like Roscoe M. Tarpit the best.
- Also via Vis Major comes the Gematriculator, which uses odd numerological patterns and coincidences to decide how good and evil a website (or text passage) is. It's guaranteed to be absolutely correct! Currently (meaning, before I posted this particular entry), this blog is 33% evil and 67% good. Just check out my certificates!
- The next in the long line of now inevitable TV-to-movie adaptations is Magnum, P.I. I watched this with my parents when I was a kid, but my memories of it are pretty fuzzy. I don't really have a strong feeling about it either way. Of course I'll see the movie if it looks like it's going to be cool. I kind of doubt that'll happen, but you never know; Miami Vice looks like it turned out pretty good.
