Yay, Fun! |

A few amusing stories, courtesy a friend here at work. And this just bugs me. Come on now, Michael. When has an Eminem video not been "outrageous and disrespectful"? And it's not like the child molestation thing is coming out of nowhere here. Stand-up comedians across the nation are making similar jokes about you. Plus, you're kind of on trial for it and stuff. It's a bit late to worry about your reputation now, Freaky McFreakJob.
Anyways, yesterday, I received my two Hero Quest eBay auction wins in the mail. Both at the same time! One of them came in a box for Dolce & Gabbana's scent "Masculine," which I found extremely humorous. They are the quest packs "Against the Ogre Horde" and "The Wizards of Morcar." Both look pretty cool, with new monsters and spells and tiles and rules and stuff. One of them ("Morcar") is, unfortunately for monolingual Americans like myself, entirely in German, but the guy included photocopies of the English versions of the quest book, cards, and such, so it should be okay. I'm dying to try out both quest packs. I think I'll probably be bringing my Hero Quest stuff to game night this week and we'll see what happens.
Last night I started "Knights of the Old Republic"--created my character (a soldier) and played through the first "quest." I felt very confused at first. I don't really play a lot of RPGs, so I have very little experience in managing parties and stuff like that, and I don't think I've ever played a game with turn-based combat. It seems like a crazy idea--sitting back and watching your guys fight instead of actually clicking the buttons that make them fight--but I think I've decided that I like it okay. In fact, I'm eager to play again as soon as possible. I especially like the fact that the game autopauses when you get into a combat situation. This takes away a lot of the tension and fear that I usually feel when playing first person shoooters and combat games of this sort.
Also, there's nothing quite like killing a Sith warrior and then rifling his corpse for loot. I love finding cool items on my fallen enemy's body.
On a totally different topic, I have this movie trivia desk calendar here at work, and today's question was "What are the names of the twins in The Parent Trap?" With the possible answers thusly:A) Shelly and Sheila
B) Shelly and Susan
C) Sharon and Karyn
D) Sharon and Susan I always like to try to answer these using only my own brain and knowledge, with no help from Google, and I thought that since I just saw The Parent Trap, I might be able to tackle this one. I was wrong. Clearly I really wasn't paying attention during the movie.
Speaking of which, it's movie night again tonight! Woo hoo! Maybe I'll pay better attention this time. |
