- Backwards City has dug up some intriguing pictures of "olde tyme" Illinois, via the Illinois Digital Archive. Sounds crushingly boring, I know, but the pictures really are pretty cool. Head on over and check 'em out. Beware, though. They're big.
- A new planet-finding technique has turned up the most Earth-like extra-solar planet yet discovered. It's name - OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb - isn't particularly inviting, but it's only 20,000 light-years away, and who knows, maybe the people there are nice. (Via Digg)
- Heh, this is a cool idea - give it a city, state, and zip and this website tells you where you'd end up if you were to dig a hole from that location straight through the center of the Earth. I'll save you the step, Philly folks, and give you the direct link. That's not where I would have expected to come out, but I guess it makes sense when you think about it. (Via Digg)
