- LOLDinosaur!
- I'm kind of in love with Dan Hipp, you guys.
- In a recent comic book, Superman renounced his American citizenship, declaring himself a citizen of the world. Which makes sense to me, given how he's always facing off against potentially world-shattering threats and doesn't limit his patrols to one country. It didn't seem like that big a deal to me, actually - it's really more of a stunt that probably won't change much - but for whatever reason, the news blew up into the mainstream media and upset a lot of people (most of them conservative idiots, apparently). More importantly, it led to the creation of an inspired hashtag on Twitter.
- This has to be one of the best YouTube videos ever: every one of Hudson's lines from Aliens. (You should already know this, but the audio is NSFW.)
- I'm pretty sure I linked to this site before, ages ago, but it's worth another link: Hobbitish, featuring Hobbit-related art from around the world. (Via)
- The next James Bond film is getting about one-third of its funding from product placement: a whopping, record-breaking $45 million. I'm looking forward to the scene where Bond has a refreshing Mountain Dew instead of his signature martini.
- Check out the Geek Zodiac. I'm a Daikaiju. Godzilla FTW! (Via)
- Here is a website devoted to Fox Mulder's wristwatch. Yes, all it is is pictures and video of the character wherein his watch is visible. Somehow, even after all these years on the internet, things like this can still blow my mind. The rabbit hole is deep, my friends. (Via)
- Heh. Apparently a new Green Lantern display made to draw people into comic shops can occasionally catch fire. Definitely eye-catching!
- Details on Shatner's deleted scene in the 2009 Star Trek film.
- On May 15th, the Wii is dropping to $150, and will come bundled with Mario Kart and the Wii Wheel. Guess it's time to dump all those extra consoles now that Wii 2 is on the way!
- I enjoy Portal Tetris.
- Somebody's going for The Most Bad-Ass Tattoo Ever Award: a T-Rex with chainsaw arms!!

- Oh man, I'm not going to have to subscribe to yet another art jam blog, am I? Bristolwhip's current theme is tattoos, and this piece by Jemma Salume is amazing.
- Dan Hipp imagines a Dirty Harry vs. zombies movie. Check out the impressive cast and credits at the bottom of the poster!
- Finally, an ad featuring actual clips from Steven Spielberg's Terra Nova. Looks like Jurassic Park crossed with Avatar.
- io9 takes a look at public domain superheroes, including Thor. All these are fair game as subjects of your next comic book/novel/poem, so have at it!
- A nice big poster showing off the large alien cast of Green Lantern.
- Awesome new clip from Thor featuring Thor's allies fighting Destroyer, plus the Japanese trailer, which has even more exciting new footage.
- Science creeps slowly closer to being able to erase memories.
- Big Boi is collaborating with Modest Mouse on their new album?! That's an interesting combination.
- I haven't watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force in a long time, but I used to really enjoy the show. Now comes the news that the show is changing its title, its setting, its premise, and its theme song! Maybe. Sort of. Just click through and listen to the meat puppet. Oh, and guess who did the new theme song? Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age!
- Somebody dressed up a broken urinal as Darth Vader. Man, I love street art.
- I've seen this link a number of places now, and it really is interesting, so I'm just going to break down and post it: "Overthinking Star Wars: The Economics of Death Star Planet Destruction." (Via)

- Good lord. They're going to remake the horrible MST3K Sasquatch film The Legend of Boggy Creek.
- Sounds like Bryan Singer directing X-Men: First Class isn't a done deal after all.
- Olivia Munn's original cameo in Iron Man 2 ended up being a bit too lighthearted for the film's dark tone, so they cut it out, made her an entirely different character, and shot all new scenes with her. Still no word on who she's playing, though.
- NBC just announced a new show called Camelot which will be a contemporary retelling of the King Arthur legend, written by Torchwood's former showrunner.
- Nintendo's making a DS that has 3D! And you don't need glasses to see it! How that works I don't know, but it sounds cool.
- Guile is guilty of vandalism, and there's video proof!
- Chainable USB plugs!
- Cute Star Wars illustrations.
- Here's a trailer for Blue People: The Movie.
- Wow! Warner Bros. wouldn't let Louis Leterrier make Clash of the Titans until he wrote two other movies and promised them a trilogy! They really love the franchises there.
- A review of Red Steel 2. Joystiq says it's not really a hardcore FPS, and focuses really strongly on swordplay, which sounds good to me!
- Hamlet: The Video Game is on the way. Damn it, that was my idea!
- Pretty clever James Bond/Duck Hunt mashup T-shirt. (Via)
- Cool head-shaped sculpture/building in a forest, and excellent Princess Mononoke cosplay.
- Scream 4 is finally really moving forward, maybe, with Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, and the major cast members all on board.
- A 3D Popeye movie??
- Another fun illustration for A Wrinkle in Time.
- Nice Street Fighter II tattoo!
- You may think a bouquet of red roses says love, but no! The true symbol of love is a bouquet of bacon.
- A sweet Batmobile limo and a cool list of the top five expanded universe Star Wars stories, which includes one of my favorite episodes of Clone Wars. (Via)
- Hey, nice art. (Via)

- Check out the trailer for Cargo, above. It looks essentially like a remake of Alien, but hey, I'd watch that. (Via)
- Recently somebody on Twitter posted a link to this escape-the-room style puzzle game. I got obsessed with it this weekend and played it through all the way to the end. It's quite brilliant.
- Listen to the new Gorillaz album in its entirety for free, thanks to the majestic and astounding NPR. (Via)
- Ooh. Check out the cover of an upcoming graphic novel adaptation of one of Lovecraft's more accomplished stories, At the Mountains of Madness. (Via)
- Kristin Hersh put up a new Throwing Muses demo for free download. (Via)
- In honor of DC Comics' 75th anniversary, io9 picks the 75 DC books you should own. That's a lot of books! Many great picks, but a couple of lame ones, too. I definitely would have included Final Crisis instead of Blackest Night, for instance.
- Time for some more amazing LEGO creations! Here are some fantastic sci-fi models by a 15-year-old artist, and here's a 30,000-piece model of a Droid Control Ship.
- io9 fills us in on what the folks saw who attended one of the recent Tron Legacy secret screenings. Sounds cool, but also pretty anti-climactic considering what people had to go through to get to one of them.
- Robert Rodriguez was all set to direct Nerverackers, which he describes as "Blade Runner, set in Mexico in 2085," when his star had a scheduling conflict. So now he'll be directing Machete instead. I for one am looking forward to seeing both movies.
- Rumor has it Joss Whedon may be making a feature film with Eliza Dushku.
- A Flash movie could be on the way soon, as they've now hired a director.
- Probably due to the upcoming film version of Alice in Wonderland, there are a ton of Alice-related links floating about lately, such as: an amazing Alice tattoo; a restored version of the first ever film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland; a wonderful caterpillar sculpture and Alice-inspired bottles; a selection of pieces from an Alice-inspired art show; and yet more Alice-inspired art.
- It's the first day of March, and you know what that means: it's time once again for March MODOK Madness!!!
- Angelina Jolie is interested in starring in Gravity, a space thriller to be directed by Alfonso Cuarón, who co-wrote the screenplay with his son. Jolie would play "the sole surviving human member of a space mission, desperately trying to return home to Earth and her daughter." Could be interesting.
- Here's a clip from a supernatural thriller called The Eclipse. Nothing really happens, but it's full of menace and tension.
- Activision shut down that King's Quest sequel that fans have been working on for years. I guess I understand Activision's reasons, but this still kind of sucks.
- To celebrate its third anniversary, Super Punch is doing something cool: inviting a series of artists to contribute to a Super Punch Tarot card deck.
- Cool Zelda fan art and Tron statue. (Via)
- Here's another of these newfangled book trailers, this one for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, from the author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Nice.
- A whole bunch of famous people, including Shane MacGowan, Nick Cave, Johnny Depp, and Chrissie Hynde, got together to sing "I Put A Spell On You" to benefit the reconstruction of Haiti. Here's the video. Not bad.
- A preview of the first issue of the new Flash comic book. It's fun, as far as it goes. But I'm wary of being disappointed by Geoff Johns again.
- Two different film adaptations of The Three Musketeers are in the offing, including an updated 3D version from Paul W.S. Anderson (which sounds awful) and another version that doesn't have a director yet. As Cinematical points out, do we really need another movie of this story? Especially when the '70s adaptations were so awesome? Seriously, watch this movie, then this movie.

- An intriguing teaser trailer for a steampunk short film called The Anachronism. (Via Camden)
- io9 presents lovely galleries of some of the toys being presented at the Toy Fair.
- Photos of a replica of the alien queen made out of recycled machine parts.
- I didn't care much about Joe Hill until I read an amazing essay by him in the back of an issue of Criminal. Now I'm looking forward to reading the first five chapters of his new novel, available for free online, as soon as I get a chance. (UPDATE: I finally got around to reading this. It's pretty damn good, in a really twisted and unsettling way. Sort of like Kafka crossed with Stephen King. It's actually so disturbing I'm not sure I want to read anymore, but I'm also curious to see how it ends. Hmm...)
- A concept art blog by a dude who wants to work with Neill Blomkamp. It's called "please look at me neill blomkamp" and there is some pretty impressive art on it. His spelling is poor, but that might be for comedy purposes, I don't know. (Via)
- Dude is doing some 8-bit Dr. Horrible tracks and even putting together an animation showing what a NES Dr. Horrible RPG might have looked like.
- I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D because I wanted to be sure to get the full experience, but apparently I should have waited and seen it in Korea, where they're showing it in 4D, with moving seats, odors, water sprinkles, laser light, and wind.
- If real tattoos aren't good enough for you, how about an augmented reality tattoo that, when viewed using the proper technology, displays a flying dragon!
- Some cool clothing and accessories, including a T-shirt for Marion's bar from Raiders of the Lost Ark which I want really badly, and a Darth Vader track jacket with detachable chestplate and cape. (I got really jealous this morning when I saw a guy on the street wearing a Flash hoodie with a mask on the hood.)
- Totoro cookie! Yep, I'll post pretty much anything I find that's Totoro-related. (Via)
- Cool Alice in Wonderland art. I particularly like the Gryphon.
- The toys for the Last Airbender movie have been unveiled, and they reveal that the film version of Appa has a creepy human face! Why did they do that to Appa?? Why?!?

- Duncan Jones will supposedly start work on his next flick, Source Code, in January. Hey, that's next month! Huzzah!
- Paul Pope unveils an unused cover design for Batman: Year 100 and it is awesome.
- These Christmas light setups have really gotten out of control. Here's one that you can use to play Guitar Hero.
- Millennium Falcon bed.
- 50 action-packed movie trailers crammed into fewer than three minutes and 50 seconds of video. Not all the movies are good, but it still makes for a pretty exciting little piece of footage.
- Star Trek Menorah!
- Impressive Metroid graffiti.
- Possibly NSFW photo of an interesting Star Wars tattoo.
- Tarsem Singh's Greek myth film epic, which used to be called War of Gods and is now called Dawn of War, should be shooting from April to June of next year. It's being described this way: "Caravaggio meets Fight Club. It's a really hardcore action film done in Renaissance painting style." YES. DO WANT.
- Here's the trailer for Force Unleashed II, which is apparently a game that's coming out. Uh... guess I should finish the first one one of these days! In this teaser, dude fights a monster so bad-ass, it eats Rancors for breakfast.
- Pretty amazing custom Munny of an alien facehugger emerging from its pod. (Via)
- A roundup of cool custom LEGO models.
- Skeletor goes to the dentist and He-Man goes to the barber. Pointless but fun!
- LOLAvatar. (Via)
- A disappointingly negative review of the much-anticipated (by me) Werner Herzog/David Lynch collaboration, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done.
- Mel Gibson will direct Leonardo DiCaprio in an untitled Viking drama. Um... okay?

- See above for the full-length, Russian-language trailer for Timur Bekmambetov's flying car movie, Black Lightning. Seems like it could be fun. (Via)
- Wil Wheaton records an amusing exchange with a friend about the death of a D&D character.
- Seven ridiculous-ass sequels Hollywood almost foisted upon us. Pretty crazy stories of what could have been. (Via)
- Amazing photos of a hundred-year-old tunnel that lies more than 10 stories underground, behind Niagara Falls. (Via)
- Another leaked Dollhouse memo, this one by Topher. (Via)
- Truly awesome Han Solo vs. Captain Kirk knife fight shirt. WANT. (Via)
- Wonderful knitted Mario in Kuribo's shoe, plus a knitted Goomba. (Via)
- Hollywood studios are banning their stars from using Twitter because they think it's damaging the industry. This is the same shortsighted response to new technology that we've seen in the movie and music industries time and time again. Twitter is just another place you can generate publicity for your product! How is that bad?? Instead of sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling when something like this comes along, why don't you figure out how you can use it to your advantage? Idiots. (Via)
- Amusing poisonous gifts on sale at the Alternative Press Expo. (Via)
- Horrifying scarecrow Elmo. (Via)
- Some really wonderful street art. If you can't read the signs, they say "Sith Extinguisher," "Vampire Extinguisher," and "Fire Extinguisher." (Via Kaki)
- Speaking of great street art, check out these piano stairs and the amount of joy and wonder they generate. Makes me feel better about the world and humanity. (Via Todd)
- Very cute and geeky Super Mario World proposal. (Via)
- Sci-fi fun with Ikea brand names. (Via)
- Covering a Weird Al Yankovic parody seems like the height of postmodernism to me. Here's a bunch of MP3 downloads of people doing just that. (Via)
- Everybody's favorite fishy admiral goes for a pop art/hip-hop kind of vibe. (Via)
- Totally cute web comic.
- A team of engineers wants to enclose Houston inside a giant polymer dome to prevent heat and storms from destroying the city. Um... really??
- Marvel, you have enough comics with "Avengers" in the title, and way more than enough comics written by Christos Gage. Why are you putting Gage on a book called Avengers Academy, which will probably be as bad as Avengers: The Initiative? Please stop now.
- A preview of John Byrne's upcoming comic, Angel vs. Frankenstein. I generally like Byrne's work, and this preview is okay, but I don't know. This one sounds a little too silly even for me.
- Apparently there's an unaired, never-before-seen second pilot for Star Trek that's an extra long version of "Where No Man Has Gone Before," and it's going to be released on Blu-ray. One of these days I get the feeling I'm going to have to break down and get a Blu-ray player. In other Star Trek news, looks like the next movie has been pushed back from 2011 to 2012.
- A couple of Thor casting rumors: Robert DeNiro and Jude Law may have joined the cast in unspecified roles, and Dominic Cooper might play one of the Warriors Three.
- It looks like from these photos that the Cylons' "Plan" was to have a lot of sex. Which admittedly is a pretty good plan, but still.
- Fringe could be hurting in the ratings simply because there are so many other big, popular shows on Thursday night.
- Updates on the various X-movies: they want to reboot things for the Deadpool movie, and include the breaking the fourth wall stuff from the comics; the Magneto movie might not happen; and they'll use the recent, darker Harry Potter films as a model for the X-Men First Class franchise.
- Rumor had it that Jackie Earle Haley might play Sinestro in the Green Lantern film; he says no one's asked him, but that he's excited about the movie.
- A giant gallery of photos of old Halloween costumes (via). Speaking of which, here's a great Bender costume and a homemade exoskeleton costume.
- The director of the film adaptation of Ronin wants to do it in 3D. Oh my.
- Another Ghostbusters star talks about #3. Dan Aykroyd says they have a script but no greenlight.
- South America + Africa = T. Rex! Also, T. Rex wall decal.
- A pumpkin as a cheeseburger.
- Amazing homemade, full-body, leather lion armor.
- Someone spotted an interesting connection to the Bible in FlashForward.
- The 11 most disturbing "Tree House of Horror" segments from The Simpsons.
- Artist Paolo Rivera was left to his own devices when designing a journal about super-soldier experiments in the 1930s for The Marvels Project, so he slipped some Lovecraftian stuff in there. Awesome!
- R-rated movies as kids' books. (Via)
- Chris Kohler at Game|Life says Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is a great game, but it's not really an RPG.
- The bunnies do The Wolf Man. Fun enough, but not their best effort. (Via)
- 5 horror movies you can show your kids. Poltergeist? Really?! I don't know, man, that movie's pretty scary.
- Cinematical offers a list of five possible directors of the Avengers movie now that Favreau is officially out of the picture. PLEASE GOD NO NOT PAUL VERHOEVEN WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!!
- Look at all the new planets they found! And some are Earth-like!
- 10 things parents should know about Where the Wild Things Are. Really this could be boiled down to one item: your kids probably won't like it.
- A truly epic entry on Animals With Lightsabers.
- Cool robot posters.
- A video showing a proof of concept demonstration of playing D&D using Microsoft Surface. Pretty cool!
- Words to live by. (Via)

- A graph to help you visualize the value of the billions of dollars getting thrown around these days. (Via Tom)
- Amazing light art.
- 20 awesomely hot slave Leia costumes. As the site points out, this is perhaps slightly NSFW.
- Uh... that doesn't look like a deer.
- An A-Z guide to zombies.
- The dangers of comma misuse. (Via)
- A dragon and a skeleton made entirely out of plastic kitchen utensils.
- Three Teen Wolf Moon T-shirt. Heh. (Via)

- This is a long but fascinating video about a new desktop user interface which makes clever use of touch-sensitive technology. It's called 10/GUI. I'd love to try it! (Via)
- A new computer algorithm seems to confirm the hypothesis that Shakespeare's play The Reign of King Edward III was actually written in collaboration with Thomas Kyd. (Via)
- A leaked memo from Adelle DeWitt to her employees at the Rossum Corporation. (Via)
- The latest news about Game of Thrones. Bran has been cast and filming begins soon. Woo hoo! (Via)
- An amusing web comic. (Via)
- A very silly cat gets a drink in an unorthodox fashion. (Via Tien)
- Paintings of insects mutated by radioactive disasters. I had to stop looking at these because they were making me a little ill.
- A look at the Vatican's secret storehouse of space knowledge.
- There could be a movie coming based on Chris Carter's lesser known series, Millenium, with Lance Henriksen returning as Frank Black! Apparently Carter himself would not be involved. I think this is actually pretty exciting news! I enjoyed that show, but I've since lost faith in Carter as a writer. I think if somebody else talented took the creative reins, we might actually get a pretty decent film out of this.
- Some physicists are wondering if perhaps the Large Hadron Collider is being sabotaged from the future, to protect us from a potential calamity caused by observing the Higgs boson. WOAH.
- Fox is going to run all 13 episodes of this season of Dollhouse, but due to the continued poor ratings, the likelihood of a third season is low. Thus Joss promises to give us some closure in that 13th episode, while still leaving some of his options open, just in case. Sigh.
- A short interview with the writer of Alex Proyas' adaptation of the sci-fi book series Tripods.
- A gallery of vintage robot toys. Included are both smoking and non-smoking robots. Awesome!
- Ian McKellan gives a brief update on The Hobbit. Not many LotR cast members are returning - for obvious reasons - besides himself and Andy Serkis. The scripts will be delivered soon, they'll be budgeted and cast, and then shooting should start next Spring.
- To ensure consumers that they are getting the real deal, Kellogg's is going to start branding its logo onto its corn flakes with a laser. Uh... overkill much?
- The last two Tatsunoko vs. Capcom characters are Zero from Mega Man X and Joe the Condor from Gatchaman.
- Another cool LEGO CubeDude. This time it's Boushh.
- A very cool concept for Super Punch's horror of Star Wars art contest: a Tusken Raider tells a ghost story about a vengeful demon with a fiery sword descending on a camp and killing everyone there, even the women and children. Of course, the demon is Anakin.
- A collection of cool, Disney-related art.
- Game|Life's analysis of Brütal Legend: great story, disappointing gameplay. D'oh. They still give it a pretty high rating, though.
- You can now report spammers on Twitter. Nice. (I know I post a lot, but please do not report me as a spammer.)
- Here's a website where you can play tons of classic '80s arcade games. (Via)
- Check out the first trailer for The Expendables. This looks utterly ridiculous. I mean, I'll still probably see it, because of the cast and the crazy action. But man. The corny dialog, the cliche plot. It looks so terrible.
- Cinematical celebrates those rare times when a great director was able to put out two great films in the same year.
- Cinematical suggests five ways Michael Bay could kill Megan Fox's character in Transformers 3. Heh.
- That "spy comedy romance thriller" previously entitled Witchita and starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz has been retitled Knight and Day. Ugh.
- Call me a nerd, but I find these ridiculously sexy. (Via)
- A brief history of space films since Star Wars, plotted out on a map of the universe. (Via)
- Dracula's greatest comic book appearances. (Via)
- iRobot made a creepy, squishy robot that can squeeze through tiny holes.
- Iron Man 2 concept art and behind-the-scenes video.
- Fun pics from the set of The Green Hornet.
- Amazing Where the Wild Things Are tattoo.
- Jedi Beatles! (Via)
- Jemocalypse! (Via)
- Jon Favreau will not be directing The Avengers. Aww. Well, hopefully they'll find somebody else equally talented.
- Bunny!
- The 14 lamest horror movie killer costumes. C'mon, that image of the pig-headed dude from Motel Hell is iconic! In fact, it's that image that made me stay up late one night to watch that movie.
- Photos from Maxim of two of the sexier stars of Battlestar Galactica wearing not very much.
- Chris "Captain Kirk" Pine will be the next Jack Ryan. I guess I can see that.
