- The ultimate "Spock is not impressed" image. (Definitely check out the Tumblr if you've never seen it.)
- Creepy-cool illustration of Wilbur Whateley.
- Very cool good-bye tribute to Harry Potter in the form of a poster.
- These illustrations make a very pointy point about gender in comic books.
- Hee hee.
- A lovely piece of Hobbit art by the always delightful Mr. Hipp.
- Scientists have found evidence of flowing salt water on Mars! Neat!
- I posted this video to Twitter/Facebook a while back, but it's so wonderful I'm posting it here again: a mariachi band serenades a beluga whale.
- The first official photo of Henry Cavill as Superman, the first official photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, and a very unofficial, Game of Thrones-mashed-up 'shop of the Catwoman photo (that was quick).
- This trailer for the upcoming animated series Tron: Uprising features lots of cool concept art, an exciting video clip, and bits of the Tron: Legacy soundtrack in the background - a soundtrack which, I may have already mentioned here, I am obsessed with to the point of mania.
- The new Ultimate Spider-Man is half-black and half-Hispanic. For some people, this poses a problem. Those people are wrong.
- Wondermark is very strange, and I love it.
- Steampunk Samus Aran arm cannon!
- NASA is sending LEGO minifigs representing Jupiter, Juno, and Galileo to Jupiter.
- Game of Thrones as a (NSFW) 8-bit (or is that 16-bit?) RPG.
- John "Walter Bishop" Noble is hosting a new show for the Science Channel investigating true stories of fringe science. It's called Dark Matters.
- Joe Quesada's Twitter feed isn't always all that interesting, but the other day he went through his process for creating a piece of art for the 50th anniversary of the Fantastic Four, and it was really cool. Plus, the piece came out great. Luckily, Comics Alliance collected the entire sequence of tweets.

Recyclotron |
by Fëanor |
Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- A couple of fun recent entries on Reelizer: a Monty Python and the Holy Grail poster called "Find the Grail" (which might be instructions as well as a title, but the image is too small to do a proper "Where's Waldo?"-style search), and a beautiful Blade Runner poster.
- Speaking of posters, here's a snazzy one for Raiders of the Lost Ark.
- Dawww. Totally cute Firefly image.
- Heh. A look at the inbox of the Witch-King of Angmar.
- I'm pretty sure I've linked to Hungover Owls here before, but the last couple entries have been golden, so here you go again.
- Awesome Captain America art from Mr. Hipp in honor of the 4th of July.
- BBC News lists 50 of the most hated office-speak phrases. This is from the UK so obviously some of these are a bit odd to American eyes, but a surprising number are painfully familiar. (Via S)
- Pretty stunning photos of people cosplaying as Lady Gaga for the recent "Lady Gaga Day" in the Taiwanese city of Taichung.
- You know I can't get through one of these without some Star Wars links, but this time I will try to keep them to one bullet point. Here's Leia as a Sith, Luke being super-emo (though to be fair he has good reason, as the image makes clear), and a potential T-shirt revealing Leia's reaction when she learned her true parentage.
- Patton Oswalt's rejected pitches for Batman comics are pretty amazing. I'd read those!
- Hipster Puppies is now a book!
- Realistic, disturbing reimaginings of Super Mario villains.
- Amazing convention sketches by David Aja.
- How about some Harry Potter links? Here's a cool (if slightly inaccurate) illustration of Harry protecting Sirius from the Dementors; an amusing T-shirt (via); and all the Harry Potter novels summarized as mostly-wordless, single-page comics.
- Fun Wolverine T-shirt done in the style of old cartoons.
- I hadn't heard of this book called Gods Behaving Badly - about the Greek Gods secretly alive and well in present day and disguised as normal human beings in New York City - but it sounds like fun. And now there's going to be a movie with a pretty amazing cast: Christopher Walken (Zeus), John Turturro (Hades), Sharon Stone (Aphrodite), Edie Falco (Artemis), Phylicia Rashad (Demeter), Nelsan Ellis (Dionysus), Gideon Glick (Eros), Henry Zebrowski (Hermes), Rosie Perez (Persephone).

- I enjoyed this web comic. Perhaps you will, too!
- I'm subscribed to Don Kenn's blog because I love his creepy, evocative, monster-filled art. Now he's made a creepy, evocative, monster-filled music video for Danish artist Fallulah. The music's not bad, either!
- Have you heard about the controversy over the Superman comic book starring an Islamic superhero that mysteriously disappeared? Here's an amusing web comic about it.
- The Branch Holder makes any stick more sword-like. Awesome!
- In this great photo, the Captains Kirk arm-wrestle it out.
- Rumor has it Chris "The Doctor" Eccleston could play Stannis Baratheon or Balon Greyjoy in the second season of Game of Thrones. I like him for either part!
- Another ban of violent video games struck down. Yay!
- I'm loving this MST3K bed frame.
- I really love this photo of Wild Things on the subway.
- I feel like I've seen, and possibly posted, this TIE Fighter costume before, but it is very funny and clever, so it can't hurt to post it again. (Via)
- Recyclotron is a bit heavy on the web comics today, I know, but here's one more: Scott Meyer's commentary on the recent news about Mark Zuckerberg's eating/killing habits. (I kind of admire the guy for this move, actually, but yeah, there is something weird and creepy about it.)

- Shirt irony!
- A nice piece depicting a tense moment from Aliens.
- Dan Hipp knows how to push my buttons.
- The latest Awesome Hospital amused me. "That'll get you thirty CCs of Ripitupazine, braff." Heh.
- io9 talks about some legendary cryptids that turned out to be real. Yay, platypus! Also, dream on, bigfoot believers! Btw, send your cryptid photos to io9 - they're offering a $2,000 bounty!
- Wizard World was in town recently - right near where I work, in fact - but I still didn't make it over there, because it's super expensive and I just would have wanted to buy everything I saw. Also, kinda busy here. Get off my case! Ahem. Anyway, I can simulate a visit to Wizard World by clicking here and looking at these pictures! And so can you!
- Have I posted about Yog-Blogsoth yet? I should have if I didn't. It's a dude trying to draw every creature in every H.P. Lovecraft story. Love the title, the concept, and the art! But beware - some of the images are NSFW. (Via)
- A camera that lets you adjust the focus after the picture has been taken?? Wow. The future is cool.
- Turns out the Red Skull started life as the cherry on an ice cream sundae.
- I'm not convinced Steven Spielberg's dinosaur show, Terra Nova, is going to be any good, but these posters are fun.
- Click through for links to many beautiful photos of a wedding at a museum.
- Emergency stakes.
- I would like to have this cookies n' cream cake, please. (Via)
- Enjoying this nostalgic Zelda comic and this NSFW Tyrion fan art from this Super Punch link roundup.
- Check out a bunch of cool posters for Immortals, the mythological epic from Tarsem Singh that I continue to be very excited about.
- If you haven't seen the new Captain America trailer yet, you really should. It looks like they got Cap's character just right. So many scenes and lines of dialog in here are so perfect. Really looking forward to this one!
- A six-foot LEGO model of Sauron's Dark Tower. Sweet!

- You can buy actual versions of fake products from the virtual world of NCIS. The farting hippo is great, but outrageously expensive. What's really tempting is the Caf-Pow. (Via poppy)
- Craig Ferguson, the robot Geoff Petersen, Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, puppets, and friends perform Modern English's "I Melt With You." Utterly ridiculous.
- Looks like we finally know why the honeybees are all dying off. So I guess sci-fi shows have to stop making up crazy reasons for that.
- Pride And Prejudice And Zombies just lost its director and its star, and Gravity is also without its main actress again. Poor movies.
- Looks like a pretty clever coffee cup holder.
- Firefly reunion on the set of Chuck! Aww. *sniff*
- Hilarious video imagines what it must be like to be Nicolas Cage's agent.
- A new, longer trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Wow! Apparently I don't remember that book at all.
- A schoolgirl wrote a letter to Johnny Depp asking for help with a mutiny, and he showed up at her school in full Jack Sparrow regalia. Pretty awesome.
- Need a quick, cheap Halloween costume? Super Punch is hooking you up with links to a ton of downloadable masks.
- Great Star Wars/Calvin and Hobbes mashup T-shirt. Speaking of Star Wars, here's the "Imperial Minigolf Final Exam."
- On November 11th, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., Nintendo will release a limited-edition Mario-red version of its Wii console in Japan. It will include an exclusive version of the game with altered graphics. Nintendo doesn't seem to have revealed what all the alterations will be, but click through for a screenshot featuring item blocks with the number 25 written on them.
- The title kind of says it all, but nevertheless, here is the (NSFW) trailer for Nude Nuns with Big Guns.
- Dude, this is amazing news: a new supergroup called Wild Flag has come to life, comprised of Mary Timony of Helium, Rebecca Cole of The Minders, and - most importantly as far as I'm concerned - Janet Weiss and Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney!! Sleater-Kinney is sort of back! Wild Flag's Facebook page is here. Woo hoo!
- Audio from a 1950s educational film strip about how to go out on a date is mashed up with footage from Star Wars in this brilliant and hilarious video.
- Velma's back - and she wants revenge!!
- Wow. I thought Secretariat looked like it might be an okay, if cliched, inspirational sports drama, but it sounds awful.

- Another fun clip from Red.
- I've mostly gotten tired of the endless top 10 lists on the web, but I rather enjoyed this list of the top 10 evil geeks in the movies.
- A couple of fun Captain Marvel illustrations.
- Rather amusing computer-animated short that tells the story of why Jabba put that price on Han Solo's head in the first place.
- Using SCIENCE to compare apples and oranges. It can be done!
- Andrew Garfield has been cast as Spider-Man in the reboot, and he is truly fucking honored. Meanwhile, Hilary Duff may be Gwen Stacy.
- Clint Eastwood says he was offered the role of Superman in his youth, but turned it down because it wasn't for him. Also, he reveals his favorite comic book character: The Sub-Mariner. Nice pick!
- Trailers! Here's a new one for Monsters. Looks like it could be fun. And here's a trailer for a completely different kind of sci-fi movie: Never Let Me Go. That one looks fascinating, and brutal.
- I already mentioned this on my Twitter, but it's so exciting I'm linking it again here: Ron Howard and his team are adapting Stephen King's amazing Dark Tower novels as a trilogy of movies and a TV series. It sounds crazy and new and awesome.
- Set pics from Captain America and X-Men: First Class. They feature, respectively, Cap and Emma Frost in costume. Exciting!
- Previous previews of the Tron Legacy soundtrack were apparently fake and unofficial, but this is apparently official and totally for real. (Via)
- A NSFW gallery of witch pin-ups. Enjoy!
- I posted a while back that Natalie Portman might save Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity, but apparently it was just a rumor. Bummer.
- Supposed Ghost Rider 2 plot details. For some reason I'm still hopeful this will be a good movie.
- Fun bear-, moose-, and jackalope-related art.
- Awesome bumper stickers for parents of gamer children. I will have to make sure Griff earns one or more of these.
- Martin Freeman, who plays Watson on BBC's Sherlock, might play Bilbo in The Hobbit. Assuming they ever really make that movie. Sigh.
- Bruce Campbell's concept for The Expendables of horror sounds kind of brilliant.
- Very cool surreal paintings.
- Cosplay! Gotta love it.
- Very cool poster for Moon.
- A Simpson-ized version of the Black Knight. Exceedingly geeky!

- Good lord. They're going to remake the horrible MST3K Sasquatch film The Legend of Boggy Creek.
- Sounds like Bryan Singer directing X-Men: First Class isn't a done deal after all.
- Olivia Munn's original cameo in Iron Man 2 ended up being a bit too lighthearted for the film's dark tone, so they cut it out, made her an entirely different character, and shot all new scenes with her. Still no word on who she's playing, though.
- NBC just announced a new show called Camelot which will be a contemporary retelling of the King Arthur legend, written by Torchwood's former showrunner.
- Nintendo's making a DS that has 3D! And you don't need glasses to see it! How that works I don't know, but it sounds cool.
- Guile is guilty of vandalism, and there's video proof!
- Chainable USB plugs!
- Cute Star Wars illustrations.
- Here's a trailer for Blue People: The Movie.
- Wow! Warner Bros. wouldn't let Louis Leterrier make Clash of the Titans until he wrote two other movies and promised them a trilogy! They really love the franchises there.
- A review of Red Steel 2. Joystiq says it's not really a hardcore FPS, and focuses really strongly on swordplay, which sounds good to me!
- Hamlet: The Video Game is on the way. Damn it, that was my idea!
- Pretty clever James Bond/Duck Hunt mashup T-shirt. (Via)
- Cool head-shaped sculpture/building in a forest, and excellent Princess Mononoke cosplay.
- Scream 4 is finally really moving forward, maybe, with Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, and the major cast members all on board.
- A 3D Popeye movie??
- Another fun illustration for A Wrinkle in Time.
- Nice Street Fighter II tattoo!
- You may think a bouquet of red roses says love, but no! The true symbol of love is a bouquet of bacon.
- A sweet Batmobile limo and a cool list of the top five expanded universe Star Wars stories, which includes one of my favorite episodes of Clone Wars. (Via)
- Hey, nice art. (Via)
