Recyclotron |
by Fëanor |
Fëanor pours the entire internet into the Recyclotron, and only the best links come out the other end for you to enjoy.
- Above is the first trailer for Clint Eastwood's supernatural thriller, Hereafter. Looks intense - and possibly rather cheesy. With the subject matter, it's going to be hard to avoid melodrama and cliches, so I'm not sure if I want to see this one or not. (Via)
- HBO has started a blog covering the making of the new Game of Thrones series. They've already posted a character photo, a behind-the-scenes video, and a new video preview with a raven theme. Very exciting stuff! You can also follow them on Twitter, natch.
- Mr. Dan Hipp made you a web comic for his birthday about a piglet who solves mysteries.
- A tiny bit more Tron Legacy footage, plus a lovely new banner image featuring Olivia Wilde. Related: an ASCII image hidden in the source code for the Tron Legacy soundtrack site.
- J.J. Abrams and Christopher Nolan's brother Jonathan Nolan (who co-wrote The Dark Knight and The Prestige) are working together on a TV crime thriller.
- Pretty amusing meme mashup. To put it another way, "Yo dawg, they put a meme inside your meme, so you can meme while you meme!"
- Heh.
- I'm intrigued by this Philadelphia film and music festival that's coming up in about a week called Philly F/M, but it doesn't look like they have many interesting movies. Plus, the website is a bit disappointing. I'd really like to see the schedule laid out in calendar format, or some other kind of more easily digestible list of who and what is playing. (Via)
- That new Genndy Tartakovsky show about giant alien robots fighting each other is airing this Friday at 8PM on the Cartoon Network.

(UPDATED. I had forgotten to bold Lord of the Flies. FYI, I've read 35 of these.)
Hmm. I kind of want there to be a couple more types of formatting, for indicating "yes, I read it, but I hated it," and "no, I haven't read this, and I never, ever will." Via bruhinb:
The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well, let's see:

Crap! |

[UPDATE: I thought this sounded familiar, so I did a search and discovered I was placed in House Tully by another internet quiz. I guess there's no escaping destiny!]
Well, that's not exactly the answer I wanted. Via most of my LJ friends' list:
Your Score: Catelyn StarkYou scored 160 Adaptability, 240 Humor, 220 Integrity and 110 Activity!Let them have their songs, if it makes them brave. You are Catelyn Stark. You are a quiet, family-oriented person, and a great representation of the Tully house words: family, duty, and honor. You can be brave when the situation requires it, though you are a constant worrier. You are protective (sometimes over-protective) of your loved ones and you have a strong moral compass. However, you are not particularly forgiving. You are willing to take action against anyone who betrays you, your family, or your friends. You are steadfast, loving, and dutiful. You are also similar to Eddard Stark and Samwell Tarly. Your polar opposite is Jaime Lannister. |

Hope everybody had a merry Christmas! I had a pretty good one myself. Join me in celebrating the return to work by taking an internet quiz. This one comes to me via kds. I only had to guess a couple of times on it, but apparently I guessed wrong. Ah, well.
